December Star (early version)

Most shooting stars are fleeting
For mere seconds they shine bright
They all burn out in the atmosphere
Until they've drifted out of sight

We've all been taught the reasons
In this cold and empty world
Everywhere you've made your mark
All your days have come unfurled

December star, that's what you are
At night we'll find the truth
When no one else would lend their help
We'd all depend on you

Your star shines bright, at night it pulls me through
It glows in every little thing you do

From the starry night you sleep in
To all the things that you have said
While you lay beneath the moonlight
These angels flutter overhead

We need to know we're cared for
In this cold and empty town
Every where you go, you shine
And you'll find some solid ground

December star, that's what you are
At night we'll find the truth
When no one else would lend their help
We'd all depend on you

Your star shines bright, at night it pulls me through
It glows in every little thing you do

Everyone can see you shining miles and miles away
You're reaching out to distances that words still can't relay
Constellations fail to shine when they're compared to you
It's in the way you care to see and do the things you do

December star, that's what you are
At night we'll find the truth
When no one else would lend their help
We'd all depend on you

Your star shines bright, at night it pulls me through
It glows in every little thing you do

Your star shines bright, at night it pulls me through
It glows in every little thing you do
Your guiding light and warmth have pulled us through
